    The Issue

2 massive vans blocking community and wheelchair access.

This is to and from The Whites Creek Valley Pathway into and out of our residential complex.

The white van DK.41.EQ belongs to townhouse 37.

I believe that DD.52.DY is her friend's van.

    The Alternatives:

Almost where the dark van is, the white van could park nose to kerb.

Our residential complex has designated visitor parking spaces.

Directly outside the back gate of Townhouse 37 there is plenty of parking on Brenan Street.

The tenant has a carport for her own parking.

However the tenant is not using her carport for its intended purpose.

    The Risks:

As a person of disabilty with balance issues and reduced dexterity,

I don't have the skills to pass by obstacles without adequate clearance.

I am a person in my 60's with health issues of multi-morbidity.

I have surrendered my drivers' licence because it is the correct community minded thing to do.

The owner of the white van is a Green P Plate provisional driver.

In any community respect of boundaries is imperative.

By HNSW supporting this illegal parking, the young person is receiving the wrong message.

In NSW it is illegal to park across your own driveway.

    The Complaint:

I believe that Homes NSW are legally required to provide safe and appropriate

wheelchair access to and from our residential complex.

This includes visual access for all tenants, as well as unimpeded physical access.

The illegally parked vehicles distress me.

As it stands, personal injury could easily happen.

I do respect and appreciate both the CSO and the TL, very much.

But this matter should have been unequivocally nipped in the bud.

The white van should have been firmly told not to park there.

By not enforcing the matter HNSW have now normalized this illegal parking.

Now, the only solution that I can see will cost LAHC money,

that they shouldn't have had to spend.

    Requested Solution

Parallel to the kerb, that runs left to right,

the concrete is divided into 3 sections.

I estimate they are each 2.5 metres by 3 metres.

I am asking that the LAHC Inspector please be requested to attend the site.

My thought is for double layered steel barriers.

This would be to preserve the first section.

I have drawn yellow dots here.

    The Goal:

Is to prevent vehicle parking that deliberately blocks pedestrian exit points.

That's why the Boundary Barriers need to be double layered, in some manner.

Some thought needs to go into this action plan.

So that Disability Aid Users and other Tenants have ease of access, with clear vision.

    People can be vindictive.

So this has to be thought about in advance.

When I can I will do a drawing with a youtube to explain the strategy:

These are across the road at the Rozelle Interchange:

The correct measurements and placement of the steel barriers would be very important.

The Steel Barriers would need to be wide enough to allow clearance

for persons with reduced dexterity to safely negotiate the spaces.

My mobility scooter regularly breaks down.

My Dog Cart is my second Disability Aid.

For additional information there are more emails on my T File.
